Have you ever noticed how some English speakers seem to really love using the word love? From „I love that dress!“ to „Don’t you just love hot yoga?“ or even a casual „I love you,“ Americans seem to have little to no reservations when it comes using this notorious four-letter verb.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, an interesting article from The Atlantic asks the question, „Do Americans say I love you too much?“ and compares how Americans liberally pepper our speech with this platitude as compared to how the L-word is used in other languages and cultures.
